ONE OF THE biggest revelations of this awards season was how well Dev Patel has grown into himself.
The 26-year-old actor first appeared on our radar back in 2008 when he starred in the Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire.
Back then, he was an adorable, gawky teenager who had made his name in the iconic teen series Skins.
Fast forward eight years and he’s matured like a fine wine.
All he has to do is breathe and people swoon.
Don’t even talk to us about his shiny, luscious locks.
The secret behind his hair? “It’s from sheer laziness,” he told Vulture.
It’s Cetaphil moisturizer. After I finish moisturizing my face, I rub the rest of it in my hair.
Is Dev Patel the first man to misuse a beauty product and have it actually work to his benefit? He really can do no wrong.
The man knows how to wear a suit.
So suave. So dapper. But, crucially, not up himself.
Just how we like it.
He’s a Mammy’s boy.
But not in a ‘She feeds me and washes my clothes’ kind of way.
In a considerate, doting kind of way.
Just try to look at these photos of him and Sunny Pawar without clutching your heart.
*ovaries twinge*
Cast this man in a romantic comedy, ASAP.
He’s so charming and self-effacing! A Hugh Grant in the making.
Are you out there, Richard Curtis? We’ve found your new muse.
He may be taken, but that won’t stop us fantasising about what it would be like if he was our boyfriend.
If Dev Patel was your boyfriend, he’d kiss you on the forehead before leaving for work every morning. He’d nip to the shop to get you fizzy orange when you were hungover. He’d always take out the bins and he’d never resent you for it.
Apologies to all the IRL boyfriends out there…
We appreciate your understanding during this time.
